It’s been a busy few weeks at the appliance store with all of these storms. With so many people needing repairs, I thought it would be helpful to share some tips for doing your own repairs.
1) Buy quality appliances – Appliance repair near me are an investment and will last longer if they’re made well in the first place. That means you’ll save on repair costs later on down the line.
2) Read instructions carefully before using any new appliance – The instructions come with every appliance, but most people don’t read them until something goes wrong (or worse).
3) Keep track of important information like serial numbers and model numbers- It’s often hard to find this info when you need it!
4) Don’t overfill or underfill washers – Be sure to follow the guidelines for both.
5) Rinse off food particles after cooking- These can cause problems!
6) Take care of your dishwasher with regular cleansers like Affresh or Finish Dishwasher Cleaner (make sure you read directions!)
7) Keep appliances away from moisture – If your dishwasher, refrigerator, washer, dryer, oven, etc., are less than 4 feet off the ground and near water sources (like a sink), consider investing in an Appliance Leveller.
8) Don’t put knives or other sharp objects in your garbage disposal – These will damage it quickly.
9) Unplug equipment when not in use – It’s always best to unplug something before working on it.
10) Learn how to use a multimeter – There are great tutorials online for this, and you’ll need one if your appliance isn’t turning on.
